Are GameStop Power Packs Legit? A Public Company, Real Cards

GameStop Power Packs pairs a NYSE-listed company with PSA. The cards are real, but reviews are split and the iOS rating is launch-inflated.

Yes, GameStop Power Packs is legitimate. It is run by GameStop Corp., a publicly traded company, in collaboration with PSA, and every pack reveals a real PSA-graded card already held in the PSA Vault.

Trustworthiness was never the real question with this one. The trust story is mostly strong, with a couple of footnotes worth knowing.

Two names you already recognize

GameStop Corp. is headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, and its stock trades on the NYSE. The company announced Power Packs publicly in a press release in April 2026. PSA, the dominant card grader, grades and vaults every card, and the Power Packs site itself is served by PSA. That pairing is about as much institutional backing as this category offers.

The paperwork is also public. The site publishes terms of purchase covering the buyback and withdrawals, plus an FAQ that states Stripe wallet withdrawals take 2 to 5 days to reach a bank account. It is US residents only.

If you want the value side of the story, our worth-it breakdown walks through the buyback: 90% of Card Ladder fair market value minus a 6% selling fee.

The 4.8 stars need an asterisk

The App Store rating is 4.8 across 472 ratings (checked October 6, 2026), but a launch-week burst of 5-star reviews inflates it. 72 of the 100 most recent App Store reviews were posted July 14 to 17, 2026, and many read as GameStop-shareholder enthusiasm rather than product feedback. Since then the reviews are split: 16 five-star against 10 one- or two-star.

Post-launch reviewers focus on odds and value. The recurring complaints: pulls worth less than the $25 pack price, app lag and errors, and trouble getting kept cards shipped. Two reviews from August and September 2026 say shipping kept cards failed or was hard to arrange, and shipping times are not published anywhere.

Google Play is more sober at 3.8 across 125 ratings, down from 4.1 on September 29, following a version 1.3.0 update released October 5. Power Packs has no Trustpilot profile of its own, and GameStop’s retail profile does not mention it, so we do not count those.

The fairness footnote

Power Packs has no provably-fair system. GameStop cites “code-based randomization” only, with no seed scheme anyone could audit. What you do get is value-range odds shown before you buy, plus GameStop’s statement that across a large sample, the average card value per pack is “substantially equivalent” to the pack price.

That is better disclosure than most of the category manages, but it is still a claim you have to take on faith. One review bright spot: a July 2026 App Store reviewer says payouts arrived within 24 hours. Run through the usual warning signs in our red-flags guide before you spend anything.

How it scores

Our scorecard rates Power Packs strongest on value (8.0) and experience (5.5), for the published buyback and the polished apps. Fairness (2.5) reflects the value-range odds against the missing seed scheme. Payouts (2.2) is the weak point: published withdrawal timing, but unpublished shipping with user reports of failed or hard-to-arrange shipments. Support (4.0) reflects limited data and some reports of unhelpful responses about shipping.
