OpenThatPack is legit in the ways that matter for a collector: it ships real cards, and its Trustpilot reviewers say the pull odds match the stated rates. The site holds 4.3 stars across 17 reviews (checked October 18, 2026). The structural trade-off: sell-backs pay site credit with no cash value, so value never leaves the site as money.
Sealed packs, digital rips
OpenThatPack’s pitch is that each opening mirrors the pull rates of the actual sealed product, with packs priced below retail ($5 to $20 for Pokémon, up to $70 for Commander Masters). It covers Pokémon, MTG, One Piece, and Riftbound. Pulled cards either ship worldwide or sell back for site credit at indicative prices; no buyback percentage is published, and credits can’t be cashed out or withdrawn.
There is no cash-out at all, so “payouts” here means shipping. The site says orders of 50 cards or fewer take about 6 business days to process, then 1 to 3 business days by UPS Express. Call it roughly 10 days door to door, which lines up with the low end of what reviewers report.
The fairness paperwork is real but messy
OpenThatPack publishes an HMAC-SHA512 provably-fair algorithm with a server-seed commitment, which is more than most sites offer. But its own pages describe fairness three different ways (HMAC-SHA512, Solana, and “VRF”) without reconciling them, and its two shipping-exclusion lists don’t match. The paperwork exists; the editing is sloppy.
What reviewers say
The Trustpilot themes are consistent across 17 reviews:
- Odds match stated rates. Multiple reviewers say hits land in line with the published odds, with several big pulls delivered.
- Shipping and packaging get praise. Reviewers cite fast international delivery and cards arriving sleeved and well packed.
- The negatives are specific, not vague. One lost UPS shipment with a weak resolution, delays when orders get combined, and a site several reviewers call clunky.
Two reviews deserve a closer read. An April 2026 1-star review describes a lost parcel still unresolved two months later, and an October 2026 review titled “Scam, avoid!” gives no detail at all. The company replied to at least one critical review to explain its sell-back pricing; it doesn’t reply to most negative reviews.
How it scores
Our scorecard gives OpenThatPack its top mark in fairness (5.0) for the documented seed scheme and sealed-pack odds, less a half-point for the three conflicting descriptions. Payouts (2.0) and value (2.5) are the weak spots: no cash-out and credit-only sell-backs sit in the lowest band, lifted slightly by below-retail pricing. Experience (4.0) and support (4.0) reflect the web plus Android app and the limited review record. The live scorecard above has the full breakdown.
