Is Trove Legit? App Store Stars Hide a Review Problem
Trove sells PSA-graded pack rips from the PSA Vault with a 100/90/80% buyback clock. But 27 of its 50 latest App Store reviews are 1-star.

Yes, Trove is a real company. Trove Inc. runs the trove.xyz site and iOS app, and the cards it sells are genuine PSA-graded cards held in the PSA Vault.
The open question with Trove is not whether the cards exist. It is what happens when you try to sell them back or cash out. That is where the user reviews turn dark.
The buyback runs on a timer
Trove’s sell-back schedule is the most unusual we have seen, and it rewards fast decisions. You get 100% of a card’s fair market value for the first two minutes after opening it, 90% for the next 24 hours, then 80% after that. The money goes to a balance you can withdraw after ID verification.
The math punishes hesitation. A card worth $20 in fair market value sells back for $20 if you decide in two minutes, $18 if you decide within a day, and $16 any time after. On the $25 Football Starter pack, the midpoints of Trove’s published value bands work out to roughly $23 of average value, about 93% of the pack price (our estimate, not a Trove figure).
Trove also describes its packs as “provably fair,” but it publishes no algorithm anyone could check. It shows value-band odds for each pack, which is more than some sites give, but a fairness claim without a way to verify it earns only partial credit. We cover how to test these claims in our provably-fair guide.
The stars and the written reviews disagree
On the App Store, Trove holds 4.7 stars across 947 ratings (checked October 6, 2026; seller: Trove, Inc). That number looks fine. The written reviews tell a different story.
Of the 50 most recent written App Store reviews, 27 were 1-star, and the share of 1-star reviews has risen each month since May 2026. The recurring themes: withdrawals not received or blocked (about 6 reports from May to September 2026), pulls worth less than the pack price, SSN requests at cash-out or shipping, and unanswered support. The positive reviews mention fun Pack Battles and easy PSA Vault transfers.
There is no Trustpilot profile for Trove, so the App Store is the only public review venue. When more than half of the recent written reviews are 1-star while the average sits at 4.7, treat the average with suspicion.
How it scores
Our scorecard rates Trove strongest on value (8.0), thanks to the 100% buyback inside two minutes and 90% within a day. Fairness (3.0) reflects the undocumented provably-fair claim against the published odds bands. Payouts (3.3) reflects the “instant” withdrawal claim against the blocked-withdrawal reports. Experience (5.0) and support (3.5) both suffer from the review pattern and the recurring complaints about unanswered support.
If you try it, the practical takeaway is simple. Decide what you are doing with a pull within two minutes, or accept that the clock is costing you money.
